On chartering from Paris
Paris-Le Bourget is one of the very few airports in the world that was designed and built specifically for private aviation, and today it remains the busiest business-jet field in Europe by movement count. Eight FBOs share the airfield, six of them fully independent, and the operational density is why quotes out of LBG tend to be the most competitive on the continent for common European corridors. On any weekday morning between 08:00 and 10:00 there are typically 40 to 60 business jets on the ground across LBG, giving brokers a real-time choice of aircraft, price, and departure time.
The right Paris airport almost always turns on what happens either side of the flight. LBG at 13 km from central Paris beats any alternative for a passenger heading to the 1st, 8th, or 16th arrondissements. Toussus-le-Noble and Pontoise are worth the extra 15 minutes only when the aircraft is a turboprop or the passenger is going west out of Paris. CDG and Orly are used almost exclusively when a passenger connects to a scheduled long-haul flight – the FBO experience is significantly slower than at LBG and the handling fees are meaningfully higher.
Pricing from Paris is defined by two things: fierce operator competition at LBG (French, Belgian, Swiss, and Luxembourgish tails all compete openly) and the flexibility of French-registered aircraft on the intra-European corridors that matter most for Paris clients – London, Geneva, Nice, and Milan. The block-hour cost of a light jet from LBG runs about 3,900 to 4,400 EUR depending on aircraft age; a midsize runs 5,000 to 6,200 EUR. What moves the number for a real trip is positioning: an aircraft based at LBG flying you to Nice is roughly half the price of the same aircraft ferried in from Zurich for the same job. Seasonality reshapes Paris charter demand throughout the year. May and June bring Cannes, Roland-Garros, and the Grand Prix de Monaco – all three drive heavy southbound traffic to Cannes-Mandelieu and Nice. July and August are dominated by Mediterranean summer holidays: Ibiza, Sardinia, Corsica, and Mykonos. September brings Fashion Week Milan and mid-autumn business travel. December and January focus on the Alps – Sion, Chambery, Innsbruck, and St Moritz. Empty-leg availability from Paris is highest Thursday through Sunday during May-September and Wednesday through Sunday during ski season.
