On chartering from Belgrade
Belgrade punches above its weight in private aviation because it has something most markets of its size lack: a real based fleet. Prince Aviation operates from Nikola Tesla with hangarage and maintenance capability and has expanded its facilities on the field, and Air Pink and Eagle Express are also home-based there. The practical effect is that an aircraft can often be found in Belgrade at short notice, rather than positioned in from Vienna or Munich with the empty leg added to the price.
The airport itself is straightforward. Two runways, 12R/30L at 3,500 m and 12L/30R at 3,400 m, 18 km west of downtown, and 89,480 aircraft movements against 8,911,987 passengers in 2025. Nothing about the infrastructure constrains aircraft choice, and traffic levels are well inside capacity, so a private departure is not typically sequenced behind a wall of airline traffic. Batajnica, north-west of the city, shows up in searches as a second option but it is a military air base and is not available for civil charter.
Serbia's position outside the EU and outside Schengen is the operational distinction that matters most. Every flight to or from an EU state is a formal border crossing with passport and customs processing, handled at the general aviation facility rather than in the main terminal. Experienced local handlers make this quick, but it is a real step in the sequence and it is why arrival and departure times from Belgrade should be planned with a few extra minutes on the ground rather than the near-instant turnaround of an intra-Schengen field.
Route demand splits between short regional business flying and seasonal leisure. Vienna, Munich, Zurich, Milan and Ljubljana are all under two hours and sit comfortably in light jet territory. In summer the Adriatic takes over, with Tivat, Split and Dubrovnik absorbing a large share of movements, and the Greek islands beyond that. Dubai is the standout long sector, roughly five and a half hours on a super-midsize aircraft, and it is also one of the corridors where Belgrade's based fleet generates the most useful empty legs.
