Overview

The Bombardier Global 6000 at a glance

The 6000 is chosen for three missions: transcontinental non-stop legs (New York to London, Paris to Miami, Frankfurt to Beijing) with a full 13-passenger cabin; four-zone cabin comfort with 8-hour flat-bed sleeping arrangements; and 51,000 ft cruise over most weather with a 4,500 ft cabin altitude to FL450. The Global Vision flight deck reduced pilot workload significantly versus the earlier Global Express variants. Bombardier introduced the Global 6500 with Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines and refreshed cabin in 2018; new production shifted to that variant, but the installed fleet of 6000s remains large and well-supported.

Questions

Bombardier Global 6000 FAQ

How many passengers can the Global 6000 seat?
Thirteen in the typical four-zone charter layout, up to 17 with high-density seating. Sleeping capacity is eight in fully flat berths.
What is the Global 6000 hourly charter rate?
Typical European rates run 6,000 to 7,500 EUR per hour ex-tax. North-American operators quote 11,000 to 12,500 USD per hour. All-in ultra-long-range class rates published by 2026 broker indices range 14,300 to 22,500 EUR per hour.
How much does a Global 6000 cost?
New list price was 58.5 to 62 million USD before production ended in 2019. Today's pre-owned market runs 25 to 43 million USD depending on year, hours, engine programme enrolment and refurbishment.
What does it cost to own and operate a Global 6000?
Fixed costs (crew, hangar, insurance, subscriptions) run about 750,000 to 950,000 USD per year. Variable costs are 5,600 to 8,400 USD per flight hour. At 325 hours per year, all-in operating cost lands near 3.4 to 3.7 million USD.
How many crew does the Global 6000 need?
Two pilots plus one to two cabin attendants on charter operations. The type is not single-pilot certified.
Where is the Global 6000 built?
Bombardier manufactured the Global 6000 in Toronto (Downsview) with cabin completion in Montreal, Canada.
When did the Global 6000 first fly?
The Global Express family first flew in 1996. The Global 6000 designation, adding the Vision flight deck and new avionics, entered service in 2012.
Is the Global 6000 still in production?
No. Bombardier replaced it with the Global 6500 in 2018 to 2019, adding Rolls-Royce Pearl 15 engines and a refreshed cabin. The installed 6000 fleet remains large and well-supported.
What engines does the Global 6000 use?
Two Rolls-Royce BR710A2-20 turbofans producing 14,750 lbf each. The BR710 is the same engine family used on the Gulfstream G550, with a strong installed base and long-standing MSP maintenance programmes.
How does the Global 6000 compare to a Falcon 7X?
The Global 6000 has a wider cabin (2.49 m vs 2.34 m) and lower cabin altitude (4,500 ft vs 6,000 ft), but needs 186 m more landing distance and cannot access some short city airports the trijet Falcon uses.
Can the Global 6000 use short runways?
Not for city airports like London City. It typically needs 1,974 m for takeoff at MTOW and 814 m to land. Most secondary business-jet airports handle it fine, but performance analysis is required for anything under 5,500 ft.
What is the baggage capacity?
5,520 litres or about 195 cubic feet, in a large aft compartment accessible in flight. Enough for a 13-passenger load with skis, golf bags and hard cases.
